Hazard Risk Analyses

A hazard is a physical event that can potentially cause loss of life and/or damage to property, the economy or the environment.

Hazard assessments are critical for quantifying disaster risk. Hazard information helps  to define scope of potential disaster events and the probability that an event will occur.

Wind Risk Analyses

Investors, know the risk of damaging tropical cyclone winds before investing in real estate.

How do we do this?

-a simple example

First we consider  site specific details including:

  1. location of the site being analyzed
  2. Using storm tracks from the past 180 years and estimated wind fields from these storms a report is created that shows  the site's wind impact and return periods for various wind speeds.

What do you get? A simplified example

Clients receive an easy to understand report that shows the likelihood of return to their site of interest of a particular wind speed associated with a depression, storm or hurricane.
